#SelfieSemester
I took one picture of myself at the beginning of the semester and I'm going to use the same image to make something cool with it. AKA, plastering my face everywhere I can.
Here is the basic black picture of my lovely face, basis for everything for the rest of the semester.
Playing with color:
Printing it on old Creative Loafing pages.
After I had made these, my laptop got stolen, so I decided it would be fun to use the pictures that I took of the CL pages to see if I could isolate just my face. I hadn't backed up the Ai file that had my face image traced, so I thought this was the next best thing, since I decided that I would only use this one picture for the entire semester already. But, the isolation didn't go as well as I hoped. The text created a neat texture, so I kept it.
Isolation of my face from the CL pages, leaving text in as texture.
The images from here on have been altered slightly from the first image ever; I used the text-face pictures so create my new face.
To further emphasize my "self-portrait" theme, I decided to use textures that I already had on my computer that I created my self for previous projects or just for fun. Here are examples below.
Using textures that I already had on my computer. Some of you may recognize these from previous projects.
Paint blobs from the Chance Imagery Booklet
Film and Television Mandala for the Dali Lama Project
Snake Skin scrapbook paper
Ivy Scrapbook paper
More paint from the Chance Imagery Booklet
Wedding invitation I made for my sister
Envelope liner for said invitations
London Underground Map used for Pop Culture project
Paint again
More paint
Scans of old pictures from on top of Aderhold
Then! For the finale! I made a screen of my face!!! (It took three times to expose it correctly. I think I might have a picture of my process somewhere, will try to find it and upload)
Yay! A blurry picture of the exposed screen! Now I can put my face on literally everything!
Here's a terrible picture of my first pull. It worked really well, and I can't wait to do more. Anyone want a Rebecca Face t-shirt?!
